This is what Jeff wrote on the reverse: “Charlton St. looking towards Alexandra Dock. The school road sign indicating that Armstrong St. School is just around the corner has been turned round on the lamp post, presumably by children. Note the local women in their pinnies and headscarves queuing at the local fish & chip shop (Charlton Fisheries). K. Baker’s corner shop is on the left.”
