Corporation Road – Annesley Street junction at night 1959.
A photographic print from the Jeff Beedham Collection.
Looking towards Corporation Bridge.
On the left: M. Brown (butcher), Annesley Street, E. Hobson (tobacco & sweets), Phil Sivil (butcher), Gorbutts (ironmongers), etc. Reinecke’s Temperance Bar and K. M. Verity M.P.S. (chemist) were either side of Rendel Street.
On the right: Joans (ladies wear), Cyril Draton (motor engineer), R. Taylor (manufacturing confectioner), W. & J. Block (toys), Sally Ann (ladies wear), N. D. L. B. Club, etc.
Note: The white marks around the streetlamp flare are probably reflections from inside the camera lens.
