‘Deveron’ GY.96 was towed to Lowestoft following a collision with ‘Pontus’ in thick fog in the North Sea. She was slipped and repaired at Lowestoft.
‘Deveron’ GY.96 was built in 1905 by Earle’s Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd., Hull for ‘D’ Line Steam Fishing Co., Grimsby. Between 1914 and 1919, she was requisitioned for war service and then returned. After WW1, she had a number of Grimsby owners. She assisted in the righting of the Hull vessel ‘Hebble’ which capsized at Immingham in the Great Storm of 1953.
‘Deveron’ GY.96 was broken up in 1954.
