A beautiful terrace of Victorian houses beside Deansgate Bridge. They were demolished in 1981.
The postcard was posted in Grimsby by Lissie on 21st July 1907. The recipient was Mrs Ward, “Ivyleigh”, Reading Road, Farnborough, Hants. (“Ivyleigh” is still there today.)
The message on the card is, “When writing please address 34 Stortford St., Pyewipe, Grimsby. With love Lissie”
Note: Mrs Ward will have been Euphemia Ward of “Ivyleigh”, wife of John Hopkin Ward, grazier.
