Lawson & Stockdale were independent outfitters/clothiers in Grimsby from the early 1900s. (They were certainly in business in 1909.) Later they became a very popular department store in Victoria Street, Grimsby. Other stores were in Cleethorpe Road (Grimsby), Cleethorpes, Louth, Horncastle and Brigg.

Lawson & Stockdale Ltd. closed their doors for the last time on 27th August 1983. Their Victoria Street site is now occupied by Marks & Spencer.
