It appears that souvenirs were being sold at the rear of the nearest shelter.
The postcard was posted from Grimsby on 17th August 1919. The sender was staying at c/o Mrs Lin(d)ley, 17 Charles Street, Cleethorpes. The recipient was Mrs J. Doncaster, 16 Cheapside, Worksop, Notts. (The wife of builder, Joseph Doncaster. They had a daughter, Mabel.)
The message reads, “Dear Aunt and Mabel, I am trying my best to do nothing for a week. Been here since last Saty. Having glorious weather. Hope you are all quite well and uncle’s shoulder quite better. Love from (Olive & Self.??? Minnie is at home???).
