The cloaked ‘Guardian of Knowledge’, Grimsby Library 2022.

The central one of five 11 foot figures high up on the southern side of Grimsby’s Central Library. They were designed and built by Peter Todd of Beelsby / Walesby. Peter Todd (1921-2006) was head of Grimsby School of Art.

Grimsby Central Library was built between 1966 and 1968.

Note: Peter Todd taught the Oscar-nominated actor John Hurt, who studied fine art at Grimsby between 1956 and 1958.
