‘Macandi’ GY.220 was built in 1972 by Herd & Mackenzie of Buckie, Scotland. She’s described as a fishing anchor seiner. Her first owner was Delga Fishing Co. Ltd., Grimsby. By 1993, she was owned by Tom Sleight (Seiners) Ltd., Grimsby but was decommissioned as a fishing vessel later that year.
For a time, ‘Macandi’ GY.220 was moored at Grimsby’s Fishing Heritage Centre. She is now in private ownership.
In the background is ‘Veralla’ GY.300 and ‘Helena Gertsen’ GY.295 (later ‘St. Britwin’ GY.295).
The businesses in the background are Guy Allen Frozen Foods Ltd., of Murray Street, and British United Trawlers Ltd.
