British Railways River Cruises from Grimsby by paddle steamer 1959.
An original flyer printed in April 1959.
The three Humber paddle steamers ‘Lincoln Castle’, ‘Tattershall Castle’ and ‘Wingfield Castle’ provided leisure trips to Spurn Point (non-landing). These Spurn trips went daily from Grimsby during the summer, weather and tides permitting.
On Sundays in the summer, a paddle steamer left New Holland to go up and down the Humber with views of the Docks. On Saturdays in the summer, a paddle steamer left the Royal Dock at Grimsby to take passengers to Hull. They could return on any boat to New Holland and then catch a train back to Grimsby or Cleethorpes.
These tours were once very popular.
