Swains Terrace, Wellowgate, Grimsby by Colin Carr 1986.
An original watercolour. Private collection.
Swains Terrace, demolished June 1986, was on the corner of Duchess Street, where Richard Sutton Design is now.
Colin Carr (1929-2002) painted hundreds of nostalgic and humorous paintings with whimsical characters. His work is very well known locally and loved by many. He was the editor of Lincolnshire Life and art editor of This England. He also painted pictures for greetings cards. Colin Carr’s art was, therefore, appreciated throughout the UK and beyond.
Note: The black cat in this picture features in a great number of Colin Carr’s picture.
