Grimsby ‘guard stone’ in 2022 and 1913.

A rare survivor. These stones were put in place to protect corners of walls from being damaged by the wheels of wagons, carts and carriages. This is the same stone in its original position 109 years after it appeared in the background of a 1913 photo.
