A seine netter built in Denmark in 1975. After leaving Grimsby, ‘Karen’ GY.317 operated out of Whitehaven as a prawn trawler for many years and was then sold to new owners in Ardglass Northern Ireland. Believed to be still afloat.

Note: In 2011, ‘Karen’ was grounded at the entrance to Ardglass Harbour, County Down. It was recommended that the owner took steps to improve safety standards within his fleet. A full report is available. Note: In 2015, ‘Karen’ was dragged backwards when her fishing gear was snagged by a dived Royal Navy submarine. A full report is available.
