Cleethorpes Urban District Council; brass tramway licences 1936.

Cleethorpes

Cleethorpes Urban District Council took over the Cleethorpes end of the Great Grimsby Street Tramways Co. tramway system in July 1936. Just over two months later, the tramway became Cleethorpes Corporation Transport when the Urban District Council became a Municipal Borough. The last tram ran just a year later when trolleybuses took over on 17th July 1937.

These brass licences, one for a tram driver and one for a tramway assistant attendant, must have made for use from 15th July 1936 but were redundant after 23rd September 1936. (They may have been used until updated licences were available.)
