From the original negative.

‘Monogirl’ was a workboat that used to meet the requirements of the Tetney Monobuoy where crude oil arriving in the Humber Estuary by tanker is offloaded and pumped to the Tetney oil terminal. From here the oil is piped to the refinery at South Killingholme for processing. ‘Monogirl’ was deployed in this role for many years (over 30?).

Coming in behind ‘Monogirl’ is ‘Spurn Haven’. ‘Spurn Haven’ was a tender to the Tetney Monobuoy oil tankers. She was built in 1966 and has now been replaced with ‘Spurn Haven II’.
