‘Edlei’ GY.455 at the icing jetty 1990.
From the original negative.
‘Edlei’ GY.455 was built in 1975 by Herd & Mackenzie, Buckie, Scotland. She was the last anchor-seiner launched into Buckie Harbour by Herd & Mackenzie. Her name comes from the combination of the name Leif Gravesen and the name of his wife Edna.
In 1980, ‘Edlei’ GY.455 broke the port grossings record for a Grimsby seiner landing in the port (£17,865 for an 8-day trip in the North Sea). Later used for guard work. Last seen in a sorry state. Fate unknown.
