Joseph Sellars was born in Scartho in 1856. He married Sarah Jane Desforges, born Ranby 1859, in Horncastle (Benniworth?) in 1879. Their son, Charles Henry Sellars was born in Benniworth in 1880. Their children, Fanny Sellars (b1881), Mary Ellen (b1883), and Frederick Sellars (b1886) were born in Scartho. Their other children, John Willie Sellars (b1892) and Harriet Gertrude Sellars (b1895) were born in Waltham.
In 1891, Joseph, Sarah Jane, Charles Henry, Fanny, Mary Ellen and Fred(erick) were living in Cheapside, Waltham. Joseph was a carrier at the time. In 1901, Joseph, Sarah Jane, Fanny, Frederick, John Willie and Harriet Gertrude were living in Scartho. Joseph had become a farmer. In 1911, Joseph, Sarah Jane, Gertude Harriet, Fanny Hubbard (née Sellars) and her children (Ethel and Doris) were living in Marshchapel. Joseph was still a farmer.
Joseph Sellars died on 16th May 1929, aged 73. Sarah Jane Sellars died on 17th January 1948, aged 88. (She lived at 16 Grantham Avenue, Grimsby.) Charles Henry Sellars died on 2nd March 1935. Fanny married George Elsom Hubbard. She died in 1953. Mary Ellen married Frederick Kennington Phillipson. He was killed in action in WW1 and she later married George Henry Houghton. She died in 1939. Fred(erick) Sellars died in 1923 aged 38. John Willie Sellars survived his WW1 service and died in Louth in 1988, aged 96. Harriet Gertrude Sellars married Frank Campion. She died in 1988, aged 93.
