Beech’s Bazaar was at 12 High Street. Charles Beech (1838-1914) was a dealer in toys and fancy goods. He was born in 1838 in St Arvans, Monmouthshire, Wales. His wife, Jane (1865-1944), was around 27 years younger. She managed this shop and the Beech’s Bazaar on Auckland Colonnade after John retired. They had four sons and two daughters.

At 14 High Street were Mrs Machon’s apartments. Great Grimsby Co-operative Society, Ltd. was at 16 & 18.

On the white building on the corner of Osborne Street, it says “Refreshment Rooms”.

Note: ‘The Bobbin’ is at 12 High Street today.
