Built in 1911 by Cook, Welton & Gemmell of Beverley for William Grant, Grimsby. Requisitioned by the Royal Navy as a minesweeper No. FY 1632 in 1915. Returned in 1919.
In 1935, ‘Croxby’ GY.642 sank following a collision with ‘Ebor Belle’ GY.101 off Aberdeen. She was salvaged and returned to Grimsby.
‘Croxby’ had various owners. In May 1952, she was sold to Alfred Bannister (Trawlers) Ltd., Grimsby (see funnel). In 1962, she was sold for scrap to Heuvelman Metaalhandel Sloopwerken and was broken up at Krimpen Ijssel, Holland.
