‘Aldershot’ GY.612 slipped at Grimsby c1970 / early 1970s.
From the original image.
‘Aldershot’ GY.612 was built in 1959 by Goole Shipbuilding & Repairing Co. Ltd. for Consolidated Fisheries Ltd. In 1978, she was sold to Colne Shipping Co. Ltd., Lowestoft and was converted to a rig standby vessel. Scrapped in Kent in 1987.
The cars in the photo help to date the image. Triumph Heralds were sold, as new, between 1959 and 1971. The Sunbeam Rapier fastback behind the box was a model on sale between 1967 and 1976. It was a relatively exclusive and expensive. [With thanks to Richard Fletcher.]
