The large advert on the wall reads “Kingsway Post Office, J. C. Smith, Picture Postcards”. Jenner Culyer Smith is listed in Kelly’s 1922 Directory as draper & post office, 2 Brighton Street. Around the corner from the greengrocer’s, the sign above the shop says, “This is a tobacco shop”. John Osborne had several shops near this location.

Willy’s Pub and Brewery and the La Cuna events venue are at this road junction today.
