Welholme Road, Grimsby by J.M.J. Postcards c1912.
An early real photographic postcard featuring a tranquil view in Welholme Road. The wall on the left is where the entrance to the Wheatsheaf car park is today. The registration number of the car is EE 719.
The famous ‘J.M.J’ or ‘JAY-EM-JAY (GY.)’ postcards were produced by Jackson & Son of Grimsby. The name was taken from the initials of John Middleton Jackson.
Note: John Middleton Jackson, born in Grimsby in 1874. He lived at ‘Norwin Dene’, Healing in 1911. John died in Surrey in 1962. His wife, Mary Faith (née Richards), had died there two years earlier.
