Grimsby road workers by J. S. Bullen 1927.

An original, unposted, real photographic postcard by J. S. Bullen. The photographer’s ink stamp on the reverse includes the date (1927). An annotation in pencil says, “Freeman Street 1927.” We are not yet sure of the exact location.

The photographer, Joseph Samuel Bullen, was an Irishman. He worked in Grimsby and Louth from c1905 until c1937. His studios were in Freeman Street and later in Welholme Road.
