Scottish herring girls in Scarborough c1910.

A unique, small photo measuring around 3 by 2 inches. From a small collection of photos by the same, unknown photographer.

The girls followed the herring shoals down the coast of Britain. They were highly skilled at gutting and packing the herring in barrels for export. Grimsby next!
