Built for the Admiralty as theCastle Class’ naval trawlerJohn Britton’ in 1919 by Hall, Russell & Co. Ltd., Aberdeen. Also in 1919, first registered as a fishing trawler namedElsie Jessop’ SH.98 (Scarborough). Registered asForth Haven’ GN.60 in 1923 whilst at Granton, Scotland. Registered asCourlis’ in 1926 whilst at Arcachon, France. Requisitioned by the French Navy in 1939. Requisitioned by the Kriegsmarine in 1942. Scuttled at Marseilles in 1944, later salvaged and repaired and returned to the owners. Went to Boston Deep Sea Fishing & Trawling asCourlis’ A.51. Broken up in 1963.
