An Unknown Farm near Grimsby, c.1905

Two photographs in the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Museum collection showing an unidentified farm or country property, probably in the Grimsby area, dating from around 1905.

The photographs, which are larger than postcard size, show what appears to be the same property from two different viewpoints. The first shows a brick-built house with distinctive patterned pantile roofing, standing behind a hedge-lined frontage, with a man, woman and dog outside the entrance. The second shows the same man with his horse beside the farm buildings, with straw stacks faintly visible in the background.

Both photographs were taken by a professional photographer who lived in Lambert Road, Grimsby. This may suggest that the farm was situated in or close to Grimsby, although its exact location has not yet been established.

Can anyone identify this farm or recognise the buildings? Any information about the location, the people, the horse or the photographer would be very welcome.
