A very busy summer day on Cleethorpes Pier, with holidaymakers crowding the pier and promenade and bathers in the sea beyond. The pier's original concert hall can be seen at the far end, while a notice announces, “THE BAND IS NOW PLAYING.” An amateur photograph, preserved in an old family album.
