Grimsby 1914-1918 brass War Savings Committee plaque (possibly from the WW1 tank in People’s Park).

An original, large, brass plaque, “PRESENTED BY THE NATIONAL WAR SAVINGS COMMITTEE TO THE CITIZENS OF GRIMSBY in recognition of the readiness with which they lent their money to the country in the financial campaigns carried out by the Local War Savings Committee during the GREAT WAR 1914-1918.”

The plaque was made by British Metal (Kingston) Ltd. of Kingston-on-Thames. The company was advertising in 1917 / 1918 that it made aircraft dials and instruction plates and pressed metal parts.
