When the Humber froze; Cleethorpes 1947.

A unique, original, medium format, black and white slide. The photograph was taken during the famous winter of 1947 on 2nd March.

The pier was breached in 1940 for defence reasons. The gap is just visible here. In 1949 the isolated, seaward section was demolished.
