Grimsby’s Dock Tower; a small, brass plaque on a wooden frame holding an Edward Bannister coal shipment certificate 1890s.

Decorating the wooden frame of an original, unused, ornate, 1890s ‘Certificate of Shipment’ of South Yorkshire Hard Steam Coal. On the bottom of the large frame is engraved, “Ed. Bannister & Co. Established 1835.”

The Dock Tower, as it says, was built in 1851 (and completed in 1852).
