A detail from an original, 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 negative. The photographer was Sid Burton (1894-1966) of Grimsby.
The Norwegian heritage tall ship TS ‘Sørlandet’ was built in 1927 by Høivolds Mek., Kristiansand, Norway as a training ship for young people in the mercantile marine. She is one of very few full-rigged ships in the world and is the oldest. She is still a school and classes are taught onboard whilst she sails to different locations around the world.
