Joseph Samuel Bullen had a photographic studio at 183 then 154 Freeman Street, Grimsby and also in Louth. He later had a studio, Oakfield Studio, at 143 Welholme Road Grimsby (from c1935). Joseph Samuel Bullen was born in Ireland in 1871. He married Mabel Elizabeth Kitchin in Grimsby in 1907. He lost his first wife in 1910 and married Winifred Praed Catley in Grimsby in 1916. He died in 1944, aged 73. He is buried in Scartho Road Cemetery.
