William Charles Kirby; Certificate of Competency, Second Hand, 1912.

The Board of Trade has now declared that William Charles Kirby is competent to act as ‘Second Hand’ of a fishing boat. Signed by the Assistant to the Registrar General of Shipping and Seamen on 10th September 1912. Printed on heavy, reinforced paper.

The certificate is stamped by H. M. Office, St Andrew’s Dock, Hull. There’s another stamp certifying that William Charles Kirby passed the higher form of vision test on 6th September 1912.

William Kirby was living at 15 Massey Street, Hull.
