‘Pontoonites’ at work on Grimsby Docks c1908.

A postcard by Harry Shaw, photographer, Grant Thorold Studios, 54 Durban Road, Grimsby. The scan of the original, very faded postcard was lacking in detail but the image has been much improved after a lot of work by ourselves. The postcard was posted in 1908.

A label amongst the fish reads “G. F. Sl….”. This will be G. F. Sleight, the largest individual trawler owner at the time.
