Sir George Doughty (1854-1914) was MP for Grimsby for most of the period 1895-1914. His second wife was Eugenia Bertrance Stone OBE of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He met her during a tour of India in 1907. (His first wife, Rebecca Vere died suddenly at their home, Waltham Hall, in 1904.)

These photos are from a 1910 election publicity card for Laceby Polling District. Polling Day was on Saturday, January 15th 1910. Sir George was defeated by the Liberal Party candidate, Thomas Wing. Sir George ousted Tom Wing later in the same year.

Sir George Doughty died suddenly at Waltham Hall in April 1914, aged 60.
