Cleethorpes

A superb postcard by H. G. Glen and Co., Boar Lane Chambers, Leeds.

This beautiful, ornate, cast-iron fountain was presented to the town of Cleethorpes by the Grant family to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897. The fountain was later moved to near Brighton Slipway along the seafront where, in 1949, it was crashed into by a car and subsequently removed.
