William Daniel Rodgers had connections with Ashby-cum-Fenby and was an RAF record keeper at No. 100 Squadron, RAF Grimsby (Waltham). One of his parents was British and the other American. He was sometimes known as Daniel and sometimes Bill or even ‘Old Bill’. More details required.

The photographer, George Frederic Cannons (1897-1972), was a significant portrait photographer of the 1930s and 1940s. Born in London, Cannons worked in both Hollywood and London. He worked in Hollywood from after WW1 until 1934 and then returned to London, keeping the ‘Cannons of Hollywood’ business name. After WW2, he elevated his career and created some iconic portraits of film stars. Some of his portraits are in the National Portrait Gallery. George Frederic Cannons died in Salisbury in 1972.
