Paddle Steamer PS Humber c1913.
A real photo postcard by an unknown photographer/publisher. Posted in September 1913 (Grimsby post mark).
The sender wrote the message whilst at sea on this paddle steamer. They had been to Mablethorpe and Skegness in glorious weather. There are a lot of people on the boat which was a little frightening at first. They are heading back to Cleethorpes. The sender prefers Cleethorpes to Skegness.
The sign says that it cost six pence extra to be on the top deck!
PS Humber was built in South Shields in 1895. At the time of this photo, she was owned by James Turner of Grimsby.
