Top left: Saidie Warren’s passport photo. Saidie visited her husband, Stanley John Warren, when he was serving with the British Army in Germany in the early 1920s. Daughter Joyce went too.

Top right: Joyce with her grandfather, Joseph. Joseph was the father of the accomplished photographer, Stanley John Warren, who left us a treasure trove of photos of the Grimsby area in the late 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. Joseph moved from Eastbourne to Grimsby in 1912.

Bottom photo: Saidie Warren with baby Joyce who was born in Brighton in January 1920. It’s rare to see a photo from this era which shows a baby who is only a few hours old.
