Showing the Dolphin Hotel on the left and the Cleethorpes Jubilee Fountain on the right. In the background is the Victoria Hotel (Wm. Hill), Victoria Terrace and the station clock.

The ‘spectacles’ sign on the left is probably the the premises of William Bradley, jeweller, 55, Alexandra Road.

This is an original ‘Reliable Series’ postcard. William Ritchie & Sons Ltd. (W.R. & S.) of Edinburgh started publishing postcards in 1903 showing views of Britain and Ireland, mainly under the ‘Reliable Series’ brand name. This postcard was posted from Cleethorpes on 6th June 1906. The sender appears to have been C. Evans living at Ivy Cottage (c/o Mrs Kendall) and the recipient was Miss Jessie Roe living at Oakleigh, Windsor Crescent.

“Stick ’em up!” Is the woman robbing the man at gunpoint?
