The People’s Park, Grimsby; west entrance and gates c1909
Showing No. 4 (‘Colyton’), No. 3 (‘Park View’) and No. 2 (‘Brunswood’), Park Drive and the park gates looking towards Abbey Park Road. The houses are still there but the gates at both the east and west entrances to Park Drive were removed in 1943 for the war effort.
These houses were built c1906. Richard Atkinson lived at No. 4 (‘Colyton’), Charles Henry Jackson lived at No. 3 (‘Park View’) and Charles Bellamy lived at No. 2 (‘Brunswood’). All were private residents at the time.
This original postcard was published by A. E. Shaw & Co., Blackburn. It was posted from Wisbech to Wisbech on 27th September 1909. The sender simply says, “No. 2”.
