Grimsby ARP Wardens HQ c1941-1943.

Wartime

Thirty-seven air raid precaution (A.R.P.) wardens in Tasburgh Street, Grimsby. Note the street sign and the enlargement of the A.R.P. sign in the window. The property still exists today (minus the glass extension). It’s on the Hainton Avenue – Tasburgh Street corner. The large window is protected from bomb damage by a brick wall.

On the back of the photograph it says, “No doubt you will find the war workers of the family in front row”. Can anybody recognise any of the wardens? It would be great to add their names here.

The photographer is unknown. (This is not a postcard.)
