The Coronation of Edward VII in 1902; a ‘Coronation Festivities’ badge with the Borough of Grimsby Crest.
An original, padded badge embroidered with silk threads and gold bullion wire. The badge was probably worn by a Town Hall (civic) dignitary on the day.
Edward VII, eldest son of Queen Victoria, was born in 1841. His coronation, with his wife Alexandra of Denmark, was held on 9th August 1902.
Edward VII was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India, from 22 January 1901 until his death on 6th May 1910.
