Grimsby Fish Docks

‘Ross Jaguar’ berthed in Grimsby’s No. 2 Fish Dock in 1984 after her last landing. The vessel on the right is ‘Gladnes’ GY.581. A seine netter built in Buckie in 1958. She sank in 1994.

“Ross Jaguar’ was built in 1957 by Cochrane & Sons, Selby for Derwent Trawlers Ltd., Grimsby. In 1959, she was registered to Ross Trawlers and, subsequently, Yorkshire Trawlers, George Frederick Sleight, British United Trawlers, George Frederick Sleight (again), all of Grimsby.

In 1985, the year after this photo was taken, ‘Ross Jaguar’ was sold to Cam Shipping for use as an oil rig support vessel and renamed ‘Cam Jaguar’.

In 2005, ‘Cam Jaguar’ was converted into a three-masted, luxury sailing schooner and sailed out of New Zealand. She is now lying half sunk after she ran aground on rocks off the western coast of Malaysia.
