The postcard was sent from Grimsby by Lottie to her sister J. Clift in Nottingham on 22nd October 1906. Lottie’s shop is marked with an ‘X’.

Grimsby News ( Grimsby News Co. Ltd., publishers & proprietors) is on the right at 83 & 85 Victoria Street. Allenby Stevenson Carpets Ltd. is at the same address today.

Arthur Skelton’s drapery business at 86 Victoria Street can be seen advertised to the right of centre. M. Kitching Ltd., hay and straw merchants, is also advertised at the entrance to South Dock Street. Town Hall Street is on the left.
