The Paragon Cinema Theatre was opened on 3rd October 1912. It was situated on the corner of Corporation Road and Ayscough Street.

The Paragon Cinema Theatre was was destroyed by fire on 13th August 1936. It was replaced by the Rex Cinema which opened on the site in June 1938.
