An original 1944 photograph of the approved emblem of 460 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force. Approved and signed on behalf of the College of Arms, Chester Herald and Inspector of Royal Air Force Badges. The signature reads ‘J. D. Heaton-Armstrong’. King George VI would have also approved the design.

460 Squadron was based at RAF Binbrook, near Grimsby, from 14th May 1942 until 20th July 1945. The squadron operated Avro Lancasters during this time.
