Tetney; outside the Plough Inn c1907.
Carriers in the centre of Tetney in Edwardian times.
An original, real photographic postcard sent from Tetney to Mrs Ibbett of 40 Brereton Street (Avenue), New Cleethorpes in September 1907. The photographer/publisher is unknown.
Presumably, these are carriers. One carriage says ” To Louth” on the back.
The name over the door of the Plough Inn is James M. Spence. James Mayes Spence is known to have still been the licensee in 1913. He was born in 1874 in the Louth area, was married in the Louth area in 1898 and died in 1914, aged 39.
