‘Brenda Fisher’ was launched at Harkers Shipyard, Knottingley in 1955. The tug was lunched by Brenda Fisher herself, a famous long-distance swimmer from Grimsby. In 1951 she broke the women’s world record for swimming the English Channel. Brenda is the daughter of a Grimsby trawler skipper.

Hallveig Fróðadóttir RE.203 (Reykjavík) was built by Goole Shipbuilding & Repairs Co. Ltd. in 1949.

Note: Ingólfr Arnarson[a] (in some sources named Bjǫrnólfsson) is commonly recognized as the first permanent Norse settler of Iceland, together with his wife Hallveig Fróðadóttir and brother Hjörleifr Hróðmarsson. According to tradition, they founded Reykjavík in 874. (Fróðadóttir was the daughter of Fróða.)
