A rough sea at Cleethorpes c1915.

An original, written but unposted, real photographic postcard by an unknown photographer/publisher.

Addressed to Mr Guss Marshall, 1 Bristol Avenue. No town is given. The postcard has neither a stamp nor a postmark. The writer was Fanny. There was a 1 Bristol Avenue in Liscard, Birkenhead, Cheshire and a family named Marshall lived there in 1901. In 1911 and 1921, the same family lived there and Joseph Aloysins Marshall and Frances Margaret Marshall had a son, Joseph Augustine Marshall, aged 16, and a daughter, Marie Frances Marshall, aged 18. This must be Guss and Fanny.

Note: Some of the Marshall family were still at 1 Bristol Avenue in 1939. The property still stands today.
