Ludæ Villa and Ash Tree Villa, Grimsby c1910.

These fine villas can still be seen in Dudley Street today. ‘Ludæ Villa’ is No. 22. ‘Ash Tree Villa’ is now called ‘Ashleigh’ and is No. 20.

This postcard was sent by Mr and Mrs W. Tyson of Ludæ Villa to Miss Blanche Hurst of 124 Legsby Avenue, Grimsby on 24th December 1910. The message reads, “Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year”.

W. Tyson was Walwyn Tyson. He is listed as a P.O.W. on Grimsby’s Roll of Honour but he appears to have survived the war.

We have another postcard which is addressed to Mr. W. Tyson of Ludæ Villa. The message is to ‘Wallie’.
